Introducing LocalRaised

There’s a kind of grocery shopper who reads every label and still doesn’t quite believe any of them. What they actually want isn’t a better label โ€” it’s a farm they know, raising food they can point to. Most of them will never homestead. We’re building LocalRaised so they don’t have to.

LocalRaised turns a nearby farm into your farm. You reserve real things, and a local farmer raises them for you:

  • Freezer shares โ€” reserve a quarter or half of a live animal before processing. After the season, you pick up a freezer full of meat, cut and wrapped by a local processor.
  • Adopted harvests โ€” your own apple tree, beehive, or maple taps, tended by the farmer all season. The harvest is yours.
  • Harvest pledges โ€” commit early to a share of a crop, like a bushel of tomatoes or a fall storage box, so the farmer plants with certainty.

You get updates through the season โ€” the field it stands in, the weather it survived โ€” and when it’s time, you pick up food you watched grow.

For the farms

Farmers get the other half of the deal: the season sells before it starts. Committed local buyers, deposits up front, whole animals spoken for before processing, and no farmers-market weekends. You farm; we handle the market.

Where we are

We’re pre-launch, working with founding farms in New York’s Capital District โ€” the Albany, Troy, Schenectady, and Saratoga area โ€” with more regions to follow.
